BACKGROUND

As President & CEO since 1998, Mr. Shehadi manages the day-to-day operations of the company and its five business lines: Community Associations Management, Rental Management, New Community Services, General Brokerage and it’s subsidiary, Amtek Engineering Group. Prior to joining Legum and Norman, Mr. Shehadi was Group Senior Vice President and a Member of the Executive Committee of Charles E. Smith Management, Inc. While employed by Charles E. Smith, Mr. Shehadi had various responsibilities including supervision of the Commercial and Residential Property Management Departments and the Company’s subsidiaries – Consolidated Engineering Company (which he founded) and Smith Construction Services.

Mr. Shehadi has published several articles and papers and has lectured extensively on property management issues, asbestos in buildings, building mechanical systems, energy use in buildings, preventive maintenance applications and automated building management systems. Associations with which Mr. Shehadi is affiliated are the Building Owners and Managers Association, of which he is past Chairman of the National Advisory Council; the Apartment and Office Building Association, of which he is a past member of the Board of Directors; the Arlington Economic Development Commission, of which he is a past commissioner; and River Bend Golf & Country Club, of which he was formerly a member of the Board of Directors. In addition to his three children he is a Big Brother to an 18-year-old boy with the Big Brother/Big Sisters of the National Capital Area.
